publication highlights the rationale, benefits and risks associated with the
addition of micro-nutrients to food, based on the current knowledge of the time.
It also briefly covers the historical background to the subject of nutritional
additives, and touches on some of the national policies and legislation
regulating such additions. It was the fifth such publication initiated by the Technical and Legislative
Committee of the IFST.
